Therefore, all finished products which are made of wheat, like pasta and bread, contain gluten.

Possibly you have heard that if you want to lose weight you should avoid eating too many carbohydrates, especially for dinner. One reason is that many foods with carbohydrates contain gluten.

Gluten, as the name says, is a kind of “glue”. It is mainly used to give elasticity to dough, for example, pizza or bread. It makes the pizza chewier and helps it rise.

What Is Gluten Free Food And Why Should We Avoid It?

In simple terms, when we are eating gluten it remains inside of us like glue. This fact makes it difficult to digest the food which in consequence decreases our metabolism. A decreased metabolism leads to more accumulation of water and fat in our bodies. Additionally, it can make us feel heavy and slow not only physically but also mentally.

Our brain is also a muscle and it reacts to gluten. That means that we can have difficulties to concentrate, even headaches, nausea and insomnia can be the case. Many people are gluten-intolerant and absolutely need to avoid all products which contain gluten. Allergic reactions which can lead to life-threatening situations are no exception.

Celiac diseases, wheat allergy, and gluten sensitivity are triggered by gluten.

Not every person is sensitive to gluten. I love pasta and pizza and could not live without them.

On Saturdays and Sundays, I eat more carbohydrates than during the week, and that includes that I eat pizza and pasta on the weekend. If you want to drop weight and burn fat, I recommend that you reduce the use of gluten products, because that will really help you to achieve your goals. If you are not allergic to it, you don´t need to abstain from gluten completely. You just need to find a healthy balance and listen to your body.

    Thank you for this information!

  2. Thank you for the article on gluten-free food. My sister has celiac disease, so whenever we go to any restaurant we try to affiliate food with gluten in it. Although many places are getting smarter with labeling their food with the gluten-free symbol, in restaurants that’s not so easy.

Thanks for providing the list on food which she can add to her list. It seems like all the good foods contain flour yet sadly those are the foods that she has to avoid.

    • Hi Jagi,

many restaurants are now starting to label if the meals contain gluten.

There are a lot of delicious meals without gluten, and many foods that we normally consume are gluten-free.

My nephew has also celiac disease and in Italy people traditionally eat pasta every day. Pasta without gluten already exists, it is also very good.

      Thank you

      Simon
